Mr. McClanahan, during one of your lectures on the civil war I recall you saying that one of the Union general was quoted as saying something to the effect of, “If we are fighting to free the slaves I would join the other side”, but I don’t remember the person you quoted nor the exact quote, and I can’t remember which lecture it was from. Can you reference this quote for me please?
