I was reading “The Political Incorrect Guide to the Founding Fathers and I came across a quote supposedly cited by Patrick Henry that seemed questionable:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religious, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship”

I am skeptical of the quote because it doesn’t seem that he would refer to the colonies as a great nation (unless of course he was referring to the state of Virginia). Is this quote confirmed to be accurate?

    Best Regards,

    I’m skeptical of this too.
