I was in a debate at school with this person who is infatuated with Theodore Roosevelt ( although I don’t know why anyone would like such a war-monger). They said they liked TR because of his anti-trust act, so i asked them to name me a monopoly (hoping it would be standard oil because I know a lot about it). They said Northern Securities Company and I did not know what that was. My question is whether Northern Securities Company had a true monopoly or if TR broke them up for other reasons? Thanks

Here is Tom Woods on TR, including comments on Northern Securities Company:

Note the citation to Dominic Armentano’s book, Antitrust and Monopoly.
