Impeachment trial guilty verdict, if

    Hello,

    If the senate happens to find Trump guilty (no, I do not expect that to happen), does that mean he HAS to be removed from office, or could (can) the senate choose a different punishment leaving Trump in office?

    A conviction entails removal from office. The Senate then can choose to ban him from ever holding federal office again.
