    Professors,

If have been asked before, I apologize.

In theory, could the states band together and force a state out of the union?

If the a state was going in a direction not confirming with the values of the union, could they vote via an amendment or some other process and force a state to leave?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

I would think that under the tenth amendment the states could all band together to vote out a certain state… either through an amendment or via convention. But, after hearing some of the lectures and reading most of the professors books, I would say that the central government would have no authority to do so. I could be wrong however, and I’m sure the professors will correct me if I am.

I agree with evassar92 that it could be done via a convention or an amendment and couldn’t be done by the Federal Government.

I concur with the committee. “There are no great men…only great committees.”
