I’m doing research on Lysander Spooner, and I hear this story that he had a plan to kidnap the governor of Virginia in order to secure the freedom of John Brown, who had raided the armory at Harper’s Ferry. I’d like to include this in my paper, but I can’t seem to find a primary source for it. Does anyone know the source for this?
