I just got done with the Virgil and Livy session. One of the things mentioned was that everyone, especially the founders, learned the original languages first (Greek, Latin, etc.) and then the great classical works. My question is, why don’t we do this today? We already know that children learn languages best when they are young. This strikes me as a superior way of learning. Are there any homeschool curriculums that follow this model of languages, then classics, then fundamentals? Seriously considering teaching my kids in this way. Thoughts?
