Ever since I read Sheldon Richman’s 2 part article series on the War of 1812, I decided to pick up Gordon S Wood’s <i>Empire of Liberty</i>.
I do enjoy the historical details, and it i revisionist in certain ways, including its descriptions of the debate between Federalists and Jeffersonian Democrats.
What does Wood get right and what does he get wrong?
