I think the vBulletin software has gotten a lot better. I’ve actually seen it on quite a few sites thus far.

There would have to be some sort of written recognition of this, no? Otherwise, how could we ever know if this was a “reason?”

Oh, I would love to know this. I have an enviromental class upcoming next week, and according to the syllabus, we are to read Garret Hardin’s Tragedy of the Commons and I would love to add some Austrian flavor to the class. I’ve already looked at Walter Block’s material, plus I’ve been citing Julian Simon’s book The Ultimate Resource

What I would like to see is a more in depth lecture on specific historical figures. Since Brion McClanahan wrote that P.I.G book on American Heroes, that might work out for a good series of lectures. Just a thought.

    mmafan,

I have to say, I’m in the same boat. His book is a fun theoretical thought experiment,, but the real world applications are tough to swallow. Now, ideally, it would seem this is the best system, but the practicalities are tough to explain in full by one person. This reminds me of a passage in “For a New Liberty” (pg. 242) where Rothbard explains that it’s not the individual’s jobs to explain every facet of this society to the minute detail, but rather to lay the foundation for the rest of society to use its power of cooperation and innovation to expand upon it.

I saw this, in fact, that’s what made me post this message since I didn’t see if on the actual site. That topic seem right in line with everything else. I can’t wait.

Interesting. I’ve actually never hear this kind of dialect, even down here in the Savannah area, where I live. I do hear much of the southern accent out in the country area, heading towards Macon though. I’d really like to research more about southern accents.

Ah I see. I went back and watched the lecture again. They are from the southern part of England. Thanks so much!

    Great lecture,

Dr. Woods did a wonderful job dispelling the myth of land being “stolen” by citing primary sources. My question is though, where does the opposing view have its foundation? If source documents claim there was a mutual trade in land, than where does the “theft” gain traction? Are there source documents that hold here?

Are there any examples of this “traditional” southern accent? Is this similar to what we have today? For some reason I think of Val Kilmer in Tombstone playing Doc Holiday. His accent seems to come to mind. Do I have this correct?
