Yes, it’s still just holding money and not “capitalist” saving. Any durable good, including money, can be acquired and then held onto in anticipation of a capital gain. But this “plain” saving does not add to the capital structure of the economy via capital formation. Cases like yours are the reason why Rothbard uses the terms plain and capitalist in discussing saving.
